Andrew Toy
Andrew is a really fun guy to get to know (watch out for puns), and will help challenge you to attain things you didn't think were possible. He's on-point, organized, reliable, and energetic. He specializes in helping experienced drummers get past their "brick wall," but has also taken dozens of beginners from zero experience to performing in shows. His professional but light demeanor makes students feel comfortable and engaged throughout the lesson. He'll teach you how to deepen your groove, drum fast, and crush your drumming goals.
Andrew has been playing for 20 years, and took private lessons for 15 years amidst performing and touring regularly, including a two-year world tour on a cruise ship as a show band drummer from 2007-2009. He currently gigs actively in DC with a handful of bands, primarily Pigeon Kings.
Andrew currently teaches Tuesday through Friday, and is available to teach the following alongside percussion:
