About The Pocket

The Pocket is a funky music venue nestled inside 7DrumCity. Our venue actively seeks to provide a platform for musicians of all sizes and genres, acting as a stepping stone for up-and-coming local acts and a welcoming space for touring musicians to share their art.

​With 75 capacity, the space creates a special listening room that fosters a close-knit community among concert-goers. Alongside our diverse live music lineup, The Pocket works closely with 7DrumCity to offer unique music experiences and educational opportunities for musicians and fans alike.

What's the best way to get to The Pocket?
We're excited to welcome you to The Pocket! You can find us at 1508 North Capitol St NW, inside 7DrumCity. When you arrive, just check in at the front desk, and then head up the stairs to your right.

Getting Here:

• Closest metro stops: 
  • Red Line: NoMA-Gallaudet U (10-minute walk)
  • Green Line: Mt Vernon Sq 7th St-Convention Center (20-minute walk)
• Parking: Enjoy free parking in front of 7DrumCity (after 9:30am weekdays), or find additional spots on P St NW or Bates St NW between North Capitol St and 1st St 
• Bus routes: C53 and C52

Can I take photos at a show?
You are welcome to take photos and videos of the show with your phone unless otherwise specified by the artist. Please, NO FLASH photography. Professional photographers must be approved by the venue or the artist. If you plan to post any photos on social media or internet, please note that they may be used by The Pocket. For press passes, feel free to reach out to [email protected].

What is your refund policy?
All ticket sales are final. Refunds or exchanges will only be issued if a show is canceled or for another valid reason as determined by our ticketing partner, Eventbrite.

Does The Pocket offer seating?
We have stools, bar rail, and purse hooks by the bar for your comfort. For live shows, seating is not reserved and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. For certain special events, seating may be provided. We have folding chairs available by request.

Is the Pocket wheelchair accessible? 
​At this time, The Pocket is not wheelchair accessible but walkers and canes can be accommodated. There is no elevator or ramp access. To access the venue, attendees will climb 9 steps to enter the building (7DC studio), and then 17 steps to enter the venue (The Pocket). There is an ADA accessible bathroom on the 1st floor of the studio, as well as additional bathrooms.

How to Book a Show

We receive a lot of artists submissions! While we listen to each one, it’s challenging to get back to everyone in a timely manner. Once you've completed your submission, just know that you are in our system and on our radar. 

We see each event as a partnership and community-building opportunity to cultivate with you all, and look forward to checking out your music!
