Collaborate with other musicians to write and record a demo in one day!
Sign up and get matched with a small group of fellow musicians, and on Demo Day you’ll meet up at 7DC to jam, collectively write a song, and record it. Walk away with a souvenir track and new music pals! And at the end of the day, all of the demo groups will get to hang and hear the tracks at our patio listening party.

Demo Day FAQs:
Do I need to have songwriting experience? Nope! Demo Day is for musicians of all types, not just songwriters. You'll be grouped with musicians who we think will complement you as you learn together how to write a song collaboratively. The goal is to get creative and have fun! Participants are a mix of intermediate and experienced musicians. How does the day work? What time is the event? Each preassigned group is given a call-time staggered between 11:00am-3pm and works together for about 3 hours, and then everyone comes back for the listening party at 6:30pm. After your recording session wraps, hang out or go grab a bite together (or book studio time to play more) while we mix your fresh tracks. You'll get an email with all the info. Can I invite people to the listening party? Absolutely, it's a party! After the mixing break, participants and their friends will gather back at 7DC to listen, mingle, and hang out. More details will be shared to participants via email. When is the next Demo Day? These happen about once a month on Saturday afternoons at 7DrumCity. The upcoming dates will be announced in our newsletter and are marked on our Community Calendar. |
How do I get involved? Registration info drops on our 7DC newsletter and Instagram 1-2 weeks before each event. You'll use the link above (button) to sign up for one instrument slot. You'll then get matched in a group and receive an email with prep deets a few days later. You only need to register for one spot; multi-instrumentalists and folks interested in multiple roles will be able to indicate as much at sign-up. How many people can participate? There are spots available to form five groups. Once it fills up you can still sign up for a waitlist. Categories include vocals, guitar, percussion, bass, brass/woodwinds/strings, and any other instruments. You'll only sign up for 1 spot, even if you're a multi-instrumentalist (which you can tell us in your registration form). Some groups may have 1-2 vocalists for even more creative songwriting and collaboration (and harmonies!). What happens after Demo Day? After this one-and-done event, what you do next is up to you! Sign up for more, keep playing with your group, try your song out at The Pocket Open Mic, and sign up for more of our collaborative & hobbyist programs with 7DC! |
