Collaborate with other musicians to write and record a demo in one day!
Sign up and get matched with a small group of fellow musicians, and on DEMO DAY, you’ll meet up at 7DC to jam, collectively write a song, and record it. You’ll receive hands-on guidance throughout the process and walk away with a demo and new music pals! And at the end of the day, all the demo groups will get to hang and hear the tracks at a listening party.

FAQs:
Do I need to have songwriting experience? DEMO DAY is for musicians of all types, not just songwriters. You'll be paired with musicians who we think will complement you. The goal is to get creative and have fun! How does the day work? Each group has a different call-time staggered between 12-3pm and works together for about 2.5 hours. After your recording session wraps, participants will disperse (or can book studio time to play more!) while the organizers mix the tracks to get ready for the listening party at 7pm. Can I invite people to the listening party? Absolutely, it's a party! Participants and their friends will meet back up at 7DC and head to the Carriage House starting at 7pm. Hang out 'til the studio closes! When is the next DEMO DAY? They happen about once a month on Saturday afternoons at 7DrumCity. The upcoming dates will be announced in our newsletter and are marked on our Community Calendar. |
How do I get involved? Registration info will drop on our 7DC newsletter and Instagram, about 1-2 weeks before each event. Sign up is by instrument part with a small fee. There'll be a pre-announcement with the date and time, too. After you sign up, you'll get matched with your group and receive an email with prep deets. How many people can participate? There are limited spots available per Demo Day to form five bands, so once it fills up you can still sign up for a waitlist. There'll be spots for vocals, guitar, percussion, bass, brass/woodwinds/strings, and other instruments. What happens after the DEMO DAY day? After the one-and-done event, what you do next is up to you! Sign up for more, keep playing with your group, maybe try your song out at The Pocket Open Mic! This is so cool, where'd DEMO DAY come from? DEMO DAY is a fun new collaboration between 7DrumCity and Incubator. We're psyched to bring their passion and creativity to our community! |
