Laura has been playing the drums professionally for 20+ years. From refurbished war ships to modern music halls, she has played at a variety of venues and toured with numerous bands both nationally and internationally. Her first band was called The Aquarium, a two piece from DC that put out an album and a single on the renowned record label, Dischord. She went on to play drums for Domino recording artist, Benjy Ferree, and finally, Ex Hex on Merge records. With Ex Hex, she appeared on Late Night with Seth Myers two separate times and at Coachella in the summer of 2015. In 2016, she played in Peaches’ all-female band for the anti-White House Correspondents dinner hosted by Samantha B. From 2016-2018, she sat in with the great Death Valley Girls, a psych supergroup from Los Angeles. In 2021, she taught a drum workshop at Georgetown University that focused on the history of rock and roll drumming from Bo Diddley to the present. She went to Art School at The Corcoran and played and toured consistently through her Final Thesis show. She will never turn down a chance to take a music lesson herself and has had many excellent teachers over the years. Although she can play electric bass and piano as well, the drums will always be her true love.
