Mitch was previously the Studio Manager at 7DC for six months before becoming a full-time teacher in August, 2015. He is a very easy guy to get to know, extremely knowledgeable about music history, and loves to learn new things and share them with others. He devotes his heart and soul to his students and shares over 20 years of playing and performing experience in exciting ways.
Mitch has a big presence in the DC music scene, namely as the drummer for his gritty alt-rock band Higher Numbers, as well as his former fuzz-infused trio Pagan Ragan. His infectious passion and talent for drum performance has landed him gigs and studio work with many other local bands including Elizabeth II and The Lucky So & So's.
Mitch has a degree in Music and Communication at the University of Mary Washington, and has also attended workshops and programs at Berklee College of Music. He also studied drums for about 10 years, and has an extensive background performing for pit orchestras in the DC metro.
Mitch's lively and enthusiastic playing style has helped define his place in the DC music scene, and he's excited to show you how to experience the thrill of drums! He teaches on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
