The Pocket is 7DC's funky, intimate, in-house venue with a 70-person capacity and a beer & wine bar. After a great launch in November 2019, Covid forced us to shut down in March 2020 from Covid just as we were gettin' hot.
Now in February 2021, we're re-launching as a virtual venue by booking livestreams for bands. We've got all the gear, hard-wired fast ethernet, and a squad of savvy sound techs plus new Pocket Director, Morgan Clinton (formerly with U Street Music Hall) running the show.
Please support us and the DC music scene by marking your calendars and tuning in to a show!
To book a live stream session (either broadcasted live, or pre-recorded for a future livestream, or other variations), please email Morgan at firstname.lastname@example.org with desired dates, and relevant info.

FRIDAY, MAY 7TH at 7 PM - Safeword
SafeWord is DC’s new favorite soul / R&B / funk band serving up hot covers and slappin’ originals. Founded in 2016, you may have heard Safeword at Madam's Organ’s Open Mic Nights serving as the house band. Safeword covers everything from Fleetwood Mac to Bill Withers to Bruno Mars to Amy Winehouse
Safeword’s creative machine is lead guitarist/vocalist Larry Love, a journeyman troubadour of the DC bar scene for 25 years. His originals like “Can’t Stop”, “Sixty Ain’t Nuthin’”, and “Girlfriend” anchor our groove. Nobody growls out a funkier version of “Use Me” like Mr. Love. Lead vocalist Angelina Mitchell and singer Lulu Min round out SafeWord’s vocal stylings and stage presence. Their covers of everything from Diana Ross to The Police always leave the crowd wanting more.
SafeWord is one of four bands performing 9 shows in this summer’s DC outdoor concert series “Welcome Home to the Music” at Ft. Reno Park and the Sylvan Theatre on the Mall. We’re honored to be part of the sound of DC reopening.

SATURDAY, MAY 22 at 7 PM EST - The Infinite Daisy Chains w/Amanda Dove + ChiefLow
The Infinite Daisy Chain: A blend of the meditative mood of downtempo electronic music with the expansive energy of psychedelic pop. With a seemingly ‘infinite’ sonic palette that sees them generate ideas from synthesizers, drum machines and an array of live instrumentation, their sound fuses Bedroom Pop and Neo Psychedelia in a way that is unique to them. This ethos reflects those artists which have shaped their sound, with Tame Impala, Pond, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, The Flaming Lips, and Beach House imparting heavy influence.
Together with the team at Day Off Recordings, they released their debut EP 'Wake Up/ Melting into You' in June 2020. They released 'Memory Lane' a lush, dream pop single in August 2020 and 'Moreno Beach Club' in September 2020. Their songs were mixed and mastered by Sam Ford, of Tone City Recordings, who has produced/mixed/mastered the likes of Jay Watson of Tame Impala and Pond. They anticipate dropping new music in Summer 2021 thanks to mixing support from Jake Ingalls (Spaceface, The Flaming Lips).

FRIDAY, MAY 28th at 7PM - Magazine Beach
Magazine Beach is a surfcore/emo/power pop band from Washington DC. We channel energy from our own lives into our songs and they always end up being something to party or cry to (sometimes at the same time). We've been around since summer 2019 so we are still fairly new but so excited to play any chance we get - come join us!
SATURDAY, MAY 29th at 7PM - FlowerBomb
Flowerbomb is a DC-based alternative rock band founded by Rachel Kline in 2015. Combining saturated guitars, ornate rhythms, intricate songwriting, and delicately raw lyrics, Flowerbomb creates a soundscape for nostalgia and heavy feelings accompanied with lush layers and dynamic sounds. Their debut album, Pretty Dark, is available now on Mutineer Records.
