I Want My MTV! Flashband
On March 7th, Flashband is hitting Black Cat with a showcase for the ages: “I Want My MTV Flashband!” For over 40 years, we dialed into iconic TV music moments, studied our favorite artists, learned every new song and dance move… and then, on New Year’s Eve 2025, tech killed the video star — just like when video killed the radio star back in 1981. Get ready for eight all-new Flashbands to pay homage to decades of iconic MTV artists and songs that shaped music, culture, and airwaves for generations. Because music never dies!

Musicians: Meet fellow hobbyists & play a rock show!
Proudly hosted by 7DrumCity, Flashband® has had a huge impact on the DMV music scene and the 7DC community! Flashband puts on 7-8 themed showcases a year at killer venues all around DC. For each new show, local hobbyist musicians sign up for a spot in the Meet & Greet Jam, form a one-time band, and perform in a one-time showcase 1-month later. Since its birth in 2012, over 80 showcases have been hosted featuring over 3K musicians, with many groups emerging from Flashband to become your new favorite local bands! 7DrumCity acquired Flashband® in May 2017 and proudly carrying the torch and continuing the tradition ever since.
