Musicians -- meet other hobbyists & play a show
Registration is open for the
Back From The Dead Flashband Showcase
at Rock and Roll Hotel!
Braaaaaains... Braaaaaains.... BRAAAAIIIINS. Get out your zombie apocalypse kit, because we're bringing back some of our favorite artists from beyond the grave. That's right: Halloween is just around the corner, and this Flashband will feature 100% songs by 100% dead people.
As a bonus, this show will be a blowout Halloween party with all the proper bells and whistles. Decorations, themed drinks, and costumes galore. Performers and audience will all compete to see who nails the best costume of a famous dead musician!
Q: Is this show really gonna be at Rock and Roll Hotel? The same awesome venue where I saw [insert touring band here]?
A: Really really. We're excited too.
Q: Can my band play a John Lennon song? He's dead, but... he was alive when he wrote it.
A: Um, yeah, I don't think there are any songs by the ghost of John Lennon, so... all good. Though if you do manage to track down the ghost of John Lennon, tell him to get crackin' on the new material already.
Q: Can I play a Smashing Pumpkins song? That one keyboardist in the band died.
A: Nah, the idea is that the songs are either written or famously performed by someone who is now dead. Basically the dead person should be the person you know the song for.
Q: Will this be an all ages show?
Q: I'm not dead, but... can my band play a Halloween-themed song I/we wrote?
A: Sure! Creativity and originals always encouraged.
Q: Can I register even if I won't be at the Meet & Greet Jam?
A: No. If you won't be able to make it to the jam, please refrain from registering until post-jam when your registration will automatically route you onto the waitlist.
If you do register and can't attend the Meet & Greet Jam, you'll be manually bumped to the waitlist to make room for someone who can. Post-jam when the bands are formed, bands will then have the option to pull you off the waitlist to join them as an additional member. If no band adds you, you'll get a refund. Please also scroll up and read the cancellation policy.
Q: Why the rules? Wouldn't it be better just to let us play whatever we want?
A: Ever been to a theme party, and some people just showed up in plain clothes? What a bummer! Themes fuel creativity and are a big part of what make Flashband a good time for the participants and exciting and marketable to audiences. Give it a shot and be creative, and we know you'll dig working within the theme.
